The Daiquiri was invented in Cuba by an American Businessman during the Spanish-American War. It's quite a popular tropical drink and was rumored to be one of Hemingway's favorite drinks. The original daiquiri consisted of only three ingredients which were rum, lime and sugar served shaken in a cocktail glass. I have to admit that I love my mango or strawberry daiquiris, frozen and delicious.
