Living the Good Life...

What does living the good life mean to you??? I think it's unfortunate that most people equate living the good life with being rich. But having large bank accounts doesn't necessarily lead to happiness. How many times over the years have we witnessed the death of people that everyone probably thought had the good life. Look at Michael Jackson, Robin Williams they had so much. Time and again money, fame, fortune don't bring love, happiness and peace.
To me living the good life is finding a balance between work and family. Being able to enjoy family and friends. Taking time for myself to become a better person. Contributing to the world either by donating my time or money to a cause I believe in. Looking for the good in people and this world. Save up to travel at least once a year even if it's not too far from home. Even a staycation can be a fabulous experience. Life is not always easy but making the best out of what you have is the key to happiness. If you want a good life it's up to  you to live life to its fullest. This is a choice you make.
You can start by contemplating the following:

  • What means the most to you?
  • Have you hugged someone today? think about how great it feels to be hugged and just do it.
  • Your smile is free and can brighten someone's day so use it.
  • Make a plan to save for a vacation by cutting out something you buy that you don't really need.
  • Are you buying a brand because you really love it or because status and looks are important to you? Will that $800 pair of shoes make you happy???
  • Did you know that doing something for someone can actually make you feel like a million bucks. Don't believe me...try it!
  • Be good to yourself and others and remember what goes around comes around.
  • Love yourself and be proud of who you are.
  • It's never to late to learn something new. So sign up for that class or just teach yourself something new.
You are one of a kind, unique and wonderful so believe in yourself and make the choice to live the good life.
